Halloween is here, and unless you have kids or a fancy costume party to go to, you’re best off spending October 31st at home. And what better way to celebrate Halloween at home than watching the best horror movies on Netflix?
At this particular moment in time, Netflix’s horror lineup largely consists of original films, and the quality of those films varies greatly. That’s why our picks for the five best horror movies on Netflix to watch this Halloween include three films borrowed from other studios, some of the most excellent films in the genre from the last 10 years. Get Out (2017)
Jordan Peele didn’t expect a career change when he took over Go, but the film’s success made him one of the most influential directors of horror. Daniel Kaluuya plays Chris Washington, a black man who is dating Rose Armitage (Allison Williams), a white woman from a wealthy family. At Rose’s insistence, Chris accompanies her on a trip upstate to spend time with her parents.
Dean (Bradley Whitford) and Missy Armitage (Catherine Keener) become increasingly accepting of Chris as their daughter’s boyfriend. And there’s something that’s just so weird about all the rich white guys hanging around the house for the weekend. The only black man there, Logan King (LaKeith Stanfield), unexpectedly attacks Chris and tells him to “get out”. Unfortunately Chris didn’t realize it was a warning until it was too late to walk away.

We (2019)
Peele’s second film as director, Wecouldn’t reach that high Go, But it is a great horror film in itself. In the prologue, a young girl named Adelaide “Eddie” Wilson comes face to face with her exact lookalike. Decades later, Edie (Lupita Nyong’o) has moved on from that trauma and married Gabriel “Gabe” Wilson (Winston Duke), with whom she has two children, Jason (Evan Alex) and Zora Wilson (Shahadi Wright Joseph).
One night, Addy’s double, Red (Nyongo), returns to take his revenge with perfect duplicates of everyone in Addy’s immediate family. These are not the only duplicates to come out of hiding, but it will be easier for Eddie and his family to escape from their own duplicates. Other countries may not be so lucky.

It Follows (2014)
It is like this Released almost a decade ago, it still stands as one of the most inventive horror films of this century. Maika Monroe plays Jaime “Jay” Haight, a teenager who makes the mistake of sleeping with her boyfriend Hugh (Jake Weary). After the fact, Hugh reveals that he gave Jamie a sexually transmitted curse that will eventually kill her unless she passes it on to someone else by having sex with them.
Jai is horrified to discover that the entity that is stalking him is invisible to anyone else who is not cursed by it. It will always follow him at running speed, no matter how far away he is from him. Even the help of Jaime’s friends can’t slow it down for long.

Spiteful (2018)

Angela and Jackson use their reputation to make people believe that they are removing spirits for them. His friends, Elliot (Scott Chambers) and Beth (Georgina Bevan) are also involved in the case.
Unfortunately for Angela, she seems to be developing actual psychic powers, which scares her. By then, it is too late for the team to turn down Mrs. Green (Celia Imrie) the job of ridding her house of ghosts. And there’s a lot more to be afraid of in Mrs. Green’s house than just a few ghosts.

Her House (2020)
We can’t end this list without including his house, which is our pick for the scariest movie on Netflix. It’s a lower-budget film than some of the other films on this list, but it has its limitations. his house Actually make it even more effective. Sope Dirisu and Wunmi Mosaku play Bol and Riyal, a married couple who both survived persecution in Sudan and arrive in the United Kingdom as refugees.
The couple left behind a dark secret when they escaped, and now that secret has made its way to their new home. A spirit of vengeance is lurking within their walls and in their minds. And if they’re not careful, it will happen to their skin too.
