Rocksteady made its name as one of the first teams to create a universally acclaimed superhero game Batman Arkham Asylum. That success led to two sequels, which were even more beloved. Batman: Arkham City And divisive, though still brilliant Batman: arkham knight, Fans were waiting to hear what this studio would do next. Most assumed it would be another DC property, as it is owned by Warner Bros. Games, and those suspicions proved to be right on the money, although not a property many would have predicted.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League It was formally announced as Rocksteady’s latest project at the DC FanDome event in 2020. At the time, outside of the graphic novels, of course, we only had one flop of a movie based on this antihero group, so many fans were hesitant to see Rocksteady deal with this property. Now that we’ve got some trailers and gameplay footage, it’s clear that Rocksteady hasn’t lost its touch. We brought you this suicide mission and covered all the details you need to know Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,

Trailers
The first true trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Coming to the 2021 Game Awards. This trailer was only three minutes long, but it was our first real glimpse at the game. We see Captain Boomerang recording a video of himself taunting the Squad’s current target, The Flash, before he is interrupted by the man himself. Other heroes mentioned include Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern.
After the cut we learn from Deadshot that The Flash, for reasons unknown, is either working for or under the control of the villain Brainiac. After repeating orders to kill him, the Squad jumps into action in a montage showing how each member will move around the city and fight mutated technological monsters. Ultimately, they encounter the Flash again and engage in battle. We get a closer look at his face, glowing red eyes and black veins visible through his cheeks, indicating some kind of mind control.
The trailer comes with a ton of gameplay footage, which we’ll cover in the next part before the final encounter with The Flash. This time, he literally whirls around the team to create a giant tornado. It ends with Captain Boomerang throwing a boomerang at the Flash, who is somehow charging some kind of energy ball between his hands. After the cut, it appears that the Suicide Squad has won – until a giant burst of light interrupts their celebration.
Taking a step back for those who may be confused as to what Suicide Squad is? Well, specifically in this game, they are a group made up of DC villains like Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark, who have been contracted by a woman named Amanda Waller. Their mission? Well, kill the Justice League, obviously. So far, we know that this version of the Justice League will be composed of at least Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash, if the names given by Captain Boomerang are any indication. Other possible members could include Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Cyborg, and more, depending on other iterations of the superhero team. Naturally, we don’t expect them all to appear, but there may be some surprises.
We can also expect Batman to be in the game as Rocksteady has confirmed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Will take place in the same universe as the Arkham series. without spoiling arkham knight, However, it will all depend on when this game takes place in that series.
However, the big villain definitely appears to be Brainiac. It appears that he has somehow taken control of not only the Justice League members, but also the entire city in which the game takes place, with giant mechanical creatures and structures everywhere.
While the February 2023 State of Play trailer focused on co-op gameplay, it did give some interesting story to watch. Once again, the trailer focuses on the squad hunting down The Flash and rescuing Lex Luthor. First, the team must destroy a giant mortar.
Once they take it down and are about to save Lex, they are overwhelmed by the Flash. Wonder Woman appears and is the first member of the League we see free from Brainiac’s control. She uses her truth to subdue The Flash and learns that it’s the only way Saving the Justice League and the world from Brainiac means killing the Justice League,
After the last delay after dark, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Back with the first insider video focused on the story and gameplay. The major new face we see as the team explores Metropolis is Green Lantern, who was expected but hasn’t been revealed yet. The team also attempted to show how the game would be less dark than the Arkham games. It is intended to match the team’s more improvisational style and the frenetic shooting focused in the game. Future episodes are expected to detail how post-launch support will work, which may include story content. This doesn’t mean the base game will lack story, as the team notes Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League It has the most cutscenes of any game ever made.
gameplay
not to be confused Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Is an open world game where you can play alone or together with up to three friends. If played solo, you’ll choose one of the squad to directly control, with the ability to jump between them at will. Anyone who is not controlled will be taken over by AI. It will be set in the open world of Metropolis, which you will be able to explore in different ways.
Due to there being four main characters, each has their own role as to how they will play. Basically, it appears that the basics of the gameplay will be an expanded version of what we got with the Arkham series. We see a ton of flashy attacks, melee attacks, and special moves unique to each character, as well as a more robust system of expanded options and different methods of traversal. Each member moves through the world in their own unique way based on their equipment or powers, giving a different experience depending on which member you choose to play as.
For example, King Shark can make great leaps, climb straight up walls like The Hulk or Spider-Man, and has a pair of hand-to-hand strikes, grapples, hook arms, and a weapon for attacks from a distance. There is a mini-gun. Deadshot, on the other hand, moves around via his jetpack, fires automatic and explosive weapons, and can get in close range with his gauntlet guns. We don’t know if the rhythm-based combat that made the Arkham games so satisfying will return, or whether it will be more of a traditional third-person action game.
The structure of the game, with its open world outside, also remains a question mark. The open world is described as larger than the city featured in Arkham Knight. We hope this will allow players to choose which member of the Justice League they want to see moving forward, though it will likely keep Superman locked in until last. We may even accidentally meet a member when we didn’t expect it. Retaking the city from Brainiac’s control is another system we highly doubt. Ridding the areas of the strange bait creatures we see and weakening his hold on the city could play a role in freeing the League from his control. What we do know is that these boss battles are expected to be the highlight of the entire experience.
There will be six types of weapons, as well as different types of gear that you can equip and all will have different effects, strengths, and weaknesses. It also affects your character’s gear score, which will dictate which missions you can take on.
Thankfully, you can wear any outfit you want without worrying about it having an impact on your stats or gear score.
multiplayer
Yes, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Designed for single-player and co-op experience. This is a first for Rocksteady, but it makes sense given the team-based nature of the game. You can play together with up to three of your friends, each taking a different member into battle. We don’t know how they will handle the progress. This has been tricky for the developers lately, so we hope this isn’t another situation where only the host player progresses or keeps progressing, but we’ll have to wait for specifics on this.
dlc
Rocksteady has confirmed that it will support Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League After launch with new characters, weapons and missions. It is still not clear whether these will be free or paid. The team also announced a Battle Pass with cosmetic items to unlock, which we don’t know the details of yet.
