technically, Brave Belongs to the category of “historical epic”, but courtesy of director and star, Mel Gibson, there is no shortage of action in this film. In this Best Picture Oscar winner, Gibson plays William Wallace, one of the leading figures in the First War of Scottish Independence in the early 14th century.

At the beginning of the film, the British are in almost complete control of Scotland. After the murder of his wife, Murron McClanahoe (Catherine McCormack), Wallace takes up arms against England and rallies his men to fight alongside him and reclaim his country.
