Its that time of the year again. At 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 5, most people in the US will turn their clocks back one hour and return to standard time. This also means you get an extra hour of sleep. However, this raises an important question: will your phone automatically change to standard time, or do you need to do it manually?

This is a question that applies regardless of what phone you have. Whether you’re buying an iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, or any other smartphone, it’s important to know whether you need to replace it for a new one.

Before the advent of smart devices, we used to manually change clocks to adjust to daylight savings or standard time. However, some clocks such as wall clocks, oven clocks, and some car clocks are still non-Internet connected and require manual adjustment.

If your smartphone’s software is up to date, its clock should adjust automatically, But if you previously customized date or time settings, you may have to manually update your clock to make sure it’s DST-ready.
